Description:
The Connecticut Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a federally funded nutrition assistance program administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Food and Nutrition Services (FNS). WIC serves low-income, nutritional at-risk prenatal, post-partum breastfeeding and non-breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to 5 years of age. The Waterbury WIC Program aims to provide health leadership in promoting health and improved nutritional status of Connecticut’s families by providing nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion, supplemental nutritious foods and partnerships, and referrals to other public and private community groups.
