- This is a supplemental food program that helps eligible pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at risk for health problems. WIC provides food rich in calcium, iron, and protein. WIC promotes breast feeding, which is accomplished through individual and group counseling.
