- The Women’s, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program is a federally funded program that provides supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk. The purpose of the WIC program is to prevent and improve nutrition-related health problems in its target population.
