  • WIC is a nutrition education program focused on reducing low birth weight babies, infant mortality, poor growth and childhood obesity. WIC provides breast feeding promotion and support and makes health referrals to registered dietitians, maternity and child health nurses, physicians and other providers. Participants receive nutrition education and vouchers for food. WIC provides nutrition education and health assessments for infants birth to 1 year of age and children from 1 year of age to their 5th birthday.
