  • The W.I.C. program is designed to provide supplemental food and nutrition education that promotes good health for pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants and children up to age five. The program is open to pregnant women, women who have a baby less than six months old, those of childbearing age, and children and infants who are at nutritional risk, live in Shelby County and meet liberal income guidelines. Participation requirements include proof of the following at each certification visit: income, identity of person receiving vouchers, residency, and shot record for infants and children.
