  • WIC helps pregnant women, new mothers and young children eat well, stay healthy and be active. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). WIC provides food and support. Nutrition education and individual counseling help families establish lifelong healthy habits. Pregnant women receive the specialized assistance to establish successful breastfeeding. WIC helps link families with other community resources. WIC encourages the consumption of the fresh fruits and vegetables grown in the Central Valley through the distribution of special vouchers for farmer’s markets during the summer months. MCCAA has WIC sites located throughout Merced and Mariposa counties serving over 17000 participants per month.
