  • The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) has been improving the health of women, infants and children for 40 years. The Program provides quality nutrition and breastfeeding counseling and education; as well as health monitoring and nutritious foods. WIC is a short-term intervention program designed to improve lifetime nutrition and health behaviors for everyone in your family. Families receive free supplemental foods to meet their immediate nutritional needs while learning how to choose healthy foods that provide the necessary nutrients for each person’s diet. The WIC Immunization Coordination Effort (WIC-ICE) Program offers free immunizations for eligible children up to five years of age. The Monongalia County Health Department WIC Program serves Doddridge, Harrison, Marion, Monongalia, Preston and Taylor Counties.
