- Description
- The Women, Infants and Children (W.I.C.) Program is a federal Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children administered by the Florida Department of Health. You may qualify for WIC if you are a pregnant, postpartum or breastfeeding mother. Infants and children under the age of five also may qualify. WIC provides onsite family nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion, education and support including breastfeeding classes, and offers supplemental food vouchers for WIC approved foods which are redeemable in local grocery stores at no cost. The goal of WIC is to improve the nutritional status of participants especially during critical periods of growth and development.
