- Description
- The Women, Infant and Children Program (WIC) provides food and nutrition information to help keep pregnant, breastfeeding and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and infants and children up to age age 5 healthy and strong. Women in the WIC Program eat better, have healthier babies and receive early prenatal care. Infants born to WIC mothers weigh more and grow and develop better. Children on WIC eat foods with more iron and vitamin C, visit their doctors regularly and receive immunizations.
