WIC clients are encouraged to participate in the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling program offered in cooperation with the Maternal Infant Services Network to provide awareness of the value of breastfeeding, and peer support for breastfeeding mothers. WIC also acts as a liaison with other community organizations that provide services and support for WIC-eligible clients.
