WIC clients are encouraged to participate in the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling program offered in cooperation with the Maternal Infant Services Network to provide awareness of the value of breastfeeding, and peer support for breastfeeding mothers. WIC also acts as a liaison with other community organizations that provide services and support for WIC-eligible clients. The WIC program is free to women, infants and children who are found to be medically and income eligible. Staffing consists of professional nutritionists, nurses and support staff.
