- Description
- WIC is a public health program available in New Jersey, which provides nutrition education, nutritious foods, breastfeeding counseling and healthcare referrals for NJ women who are pregnant or post-partum, infants and children under the age of 5. VNA of Central Jersey is the Sponsor for WIC in Monmouth and Middlesex Counties. In 2014, nearly 34,000 mothers and children under the age of 5 received food and nutritional counseling for their families through the VNA Health Group WIC Supplemental Nutrition Program. The program includes nutritional counseling, anemia screening and vouchers for the purchase of selected nutritious foods. Services of a lactation consultant are also available.
