  • Description
  • WIC provides nutrition education and “checks” to purchase nutritional foods designed to supplement the family food budget. The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Low-income pregnant women, new mothers, infants and children up to five (5) years old who have a health risk (such as anemia, underweight, overweight or history of pregnancy complications) can receive: nutrition education through a group or individually, screening for nutritional risks, growth monitoring, referral to local health and human services. Who Qualifies? Pregnant women, new moms up to one-year postpartum, children up to five (5) years of age can qualify for the food packages
