  • The WIC program (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children) is a federal grant program which operates as part of FNS (Food and Nutrition Service). The WIC program is available at all health centers in the Purchase District. The main goal of the WIC program is to protect or improve the health and nutritional status of pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5. WIC provides nutrition education and services, breastfeeding promotion and education, a monthly food prescription of nutritious foods, and access to maternal, prenatal, and pediatric health care services.
