We have over 12 WIC Offices located throughout San Diego to provide services to over 40,000 participants per month. WIC (The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children) is administered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). WIC provides healthy foods to supplement the dietary needs of participants to ensure good health, growth and development. The amounts and types of foods WIC provides was redesigned in 2009 to include fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grain foods.
