  • WIC is for all kinds of families: married and single parents, working or not working. If you are a father, mother, grandparent, foster parent or other legal guardian of a child under the age of 5, you can apply for WIC for your child. You can participate in WIC if you live in the state of Massachusetts, have a nutritional need, have a family income within WIC guidelines, and if any of the following criteria apply: You are a mother, father or legal guardian with a child under five years of age; You are a breastfeeding woman and had a baby within the past year; or You are a non-breastfeeding woman and had a baby within the past 6 months. You are automatically income eligible for WIC if you are currently receiving TAFDC, SNAP or certain MassHealth coverage.
