WIC is a supplemental nutrition program for pregnant women, breastfeeding women, mothers of infants under 6 months of age, children under 5, and infants. It is a preventative health care/education USDA federal grant program. Medina County WIC Program covers 4 counties - Medina, Bandera, Real, Edwards. Our WIC Program provides nutrition and breastfeeding counseling, immunizations, referrals to health care, and supplemental foods for the qualified above listed client categories. There are no fees for service for the WIC program but you must qualify by income, residency, and a medical or nutrition risk. There is no application to qualify for WIC; clients must call and set up a screening appointment to determine eligibility.
