A supplemental food program federally funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services that includes special funding for breastfeeding promotion. To qualify you must be a resident of Missouri, meet certain income requirements, and have a health or nutritional risk determined by a health assessment. The food packages provide supplemental foods designed to meet the special nutritional needs of pregnant, breastfeeding, or non-breastfeeding postpartum women, infants, and children up to five years of age. The program also offers nutrition information/education, referrals to health care providers and social service agencies, health screenings and risk assessments.
