WIC stands for Women, Infants, and Children supplemental food program. The WIC program is a federally funded program which provides nutritious foods, education, and health assessments to all qualifying: 1. Pregnant women; 2. Post partum mothers (up to six months); 3. Breastfeeding mothers (up to one year); 4. Infants; 5. Children (up to age five). WIC strives to improve the health of participants by providing individual health and nutrition assessments. Participants receive food instruments to redeem at local stores for foods that are high in vitamins and minerals. Participants must provide proof of residency and proof of income.
