Below are WIC Clinics and Programs in Rockdale
WIC is a nutrition program for growing families. We work with families to make sure pregnant women have healthy pregnancies, providing new parents with the best and latest information on feeding their infants and making sure families have nutritious foods high in vitamins and minerals. WIC is open to many incomes and all kinds of families. Even if you don't qualify for Medicaid you may still be eligible for WIC. Eligibility is determined by looking at your income and asking questions about you and your family's health and nutrition. WIC will also weigh, measure and check the iron level of each person applying for WIC services. If you qualify you will return to the WIC clinic every two to three months and we will provide information about nutrition that relates to your family's needs and referrals to health care services. Additional support and food benefits are provided to women who choose to breastfeed. If you qualify and continue to meet income and nutrition requirements infants and children can stay on WIC until 5 years old. Women who are pregnant receive WIC food benefits for the duration of their pregnancy. Women who are exclusively or mostly breastfeeding receive WIC food benefits until their baby is 1 year old. Women who are mostly or only formula feeding receive WIC food benefits until their baby is 6 months old. You must reapply at the end of the certification period to continue receiving WIC benefits. Qualifying WIC participants receive a WIC EBT card that looks and works like a debit card and stores and keeps track of your WIC food benefits (not the same as the Lone Star Food Stamp card). To receive your WIC food benefits you must bring your WIC EBT card to each clinic visit. WIC staff members will load your family's information and up to 3 months of WIC food benefits onto your card and activate it. WIC will schedule your future appointments before your last set of food benefits expire. WIC will also provide you with a WIC shopping list that tells you how much food you have loaded onto your card.
