The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), was designed to increase a woman's chance of having a healthy baby and so that infants and children have improved growth and cognitive development through proper nutrition. This program provides vouchers for foods that are specifically chosen for their nutritional value to supplement the regular diet of pregnant women, breast-feeding women, postpartum women, infants and children under the age of five. Participants must meet Colorado income guidelines and qualify based on nutritional assessment. In addition to nutritious foods, our clients also receive nutrition education and referrals to health services.
